Many style of Colombian music are also performed, most prominently cumbia, and instruments including drums and wind ensembles. This is a carnival with traditions that date back to the XIX century. During the carnival the city of Barranquillas normal activities are paralyzed because the city gets busy with street dances, musical and masquerade parades. Day tour to National Park Islas del Rosario. An early start waits on a 55-minute boat trip heading towards the national park.
