Banco de la República Gold Museum collection
was declared National Monument and is considered the most important of
the type in the world. Includes nearly 34,000 pieces of gold, and
20,000 bone, lithic and ceramic objects and textiles pertaining to
Calima, Quimbaya, Muisca, Tairona, Sinú, Tolima, and Malagana cultures,
among other.

Botero Museum Art collection
donated by Colombian master Fernando Botero catalogued as the most
important in the history of the country. Donation delivered Banco de la
República integrates nearly 120 Botero drawings mainly, aquarelle,
oleo, pastel techniques and sculptures.

The National Museum is
the oldest in the country and one of the oldest in the continent, built
in 1823. Its fortress architecture is built in stone and brick. The
plant includes arches, domes and columns forming a sort of Greek cross
over which 104 prison cells are distributed, with solid wall façade.
The museum is in the Colombian cultural vanguard. The 57 paintings by
masters Fernando Botero, Alejandro Obregón and Guillermo Wiedemann
sample is of special interest.

Quinta de Bolivar Museum the
House, which restoration was completed in 1998, is a great sample of
domestic rural Colony architecture. Exhibits furniture, garments, arms,
documents and objects belonging to the Liberator, and varied nature
pieces organized by rooms intended to recreate original spaces layout.

Modern Art Museum of Bogotá exhibits
a complete collection of modern art work basically consisting of
drawing, paintings, engraved work, and sculpture assembly. Houses work
of Colombian masters Fernando Botero, Alejandro Obregón, Enrique Grau
and Édgar Negret, among many other together with important Latin
American artists. The moderns building, designed by architect Rogelio
Salmona, achieves optimum space and natural light management.

- La Opera Hotel one
of the five star hotel located in Historical Bogotá Downtown in one of
the few pedestrian sectors of the city. Total 29 rooms none of them
similar to any other. Two restaurants: La Scala Mediterranean food in
the first floor and El Mirador typical and international food in the
fourth floor, offering incomparable colonial roofs, towers, cupolas and
bell towers of ancient Santa Fe de Bogotá.

Bolivar Plaza initially
the plaza area was wide magnum room or theatre for civil, martial and
religious representations, on July 20, 1846 the statue of the hero
whose name was given the Plaza by spontaneous popular decision was
placed in the middle.

El Rosario Square east
and west sides keep traditional cafés built in the 30s, such as Café
Pasaje or Cafetería Romana. In the center of the square a pedestal
forming a star and supporting the founder of Bogotá, Don Gonzalo
Jiménez de Quesada statue. On the south side Colegio Mayor de Nuestra
Señora del Rosario.

Cristobal Colón Theatre, the
first time European theatre, operetta and opera shows. Current
construction started in 1886. On October 27, 1892 the theater was
officially inaugurated to commemorate Christopher Columbus arrival to
America and renaming the theatre with its current name. The theatre
currently offers guided tours to every corner of the place.

Historical Downtown concentrates
most historical and cultural attractions of interest, a good portion of
which date from colonial times. Such valuable includes numerous
churches, museums, homes, plazas, small squares, and buildings of great
architectural and urban interest. Traditionally, public power branches
of the Nation and the city have their offices in that area. La
Candelaria neighborhood, located to the east of Historical Downtown,
preserves the remembrance of a small village, and was large metropolis
cradle.

Cultural life is intense, streets,
plazas and small squares provide space for multiple artistic and
popular tradition exhibitions. Universities, cultural entities,
Foundations, and History Institute, among many other; artistic
workshops, antiquaries and religious articles stores abound.

Jimenez Avenue Environmental Axle, extending
for 2,8 kilometers, is one of the most important urban rehabilitation
and reanimation works in past years. The environment provided by the
complex integrally recovers Historical Downtown, enhancing
architectural and urban richness located along the Axle, while
generating the necessary conditions for environmental reviving.

International Center is
very rich in historical, cultural, recreational and natural values.
Recoleta de San Diego, Franciscan church is the symbol around which one
of the most singular architectural groups of Bogotá stands. On the
other side of the street you will find a commercial, financial and
tourist services complex.
- Palace of Justice the
first place was destroyed during El Bogotazo, on April 9, 1948.
Unfortunately on November 6, 1985, members of then M-19 guerilla group
took the facilities and military forces recovery took the life of 111
people. The palace was put to service only in November 1998.
