Botero project - Museum of Antioquia.
The first museum founded in Antioquia (1811), the second in Colombia,
since 1978, and in response to a petition by master painter Fernando
Botero, who around that time donates his first works, its name
was changed to the present-day Museum of Antioquia, which
according to the artist, gave it a more representative identity.

El Castillo Museum.
Built in 1930 in gotic style, it has gardens in French style,
exhibition rooms, a library and a concert room for 250 people. It has
permanent exhibitions of porcelain and crystal object, stained-glass
windows, Gobelins, paintings and sculptures. Classes of pottery,
painting, musical initiation, sculpture, piano, and ballet
are also given.

The Nutibara Hill and Pueblito Paisa.
It is the best known of Medellín hills. Covering an area of 33 hectares
Nutibara is located in the southwest of the city, close to the Medellín
river. From its summit 80 meters above the city, you get a magnificent
view of much of the valley of Aburra, in wich Medellín nestles. Here
is Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a village of old with church,
priest`s-house, school, pharmacy, barber`s shop, coffee shop, small
stores, and the typical square with a stone fountain at its center.

The Flower Fair, August.
It is the maxium expression of the gaiety and authenticity of the
people of Antioquia. Cultural, sports and artistic events are
programmed, togheter with street theater, big orchrestas, a national
beauty contest, a horse show and a flower exhibition. The greatest
attraction of the fair is the Flower-Beared Parade, a colorful
march whose protagonist have been, for over three decades, country
flowers growing who come down to the city from Santa Elena a rural
area near Medellín. It is whitout doubt the symbol of Medellín.

The National Handicrafts Fair, July.
The area around the Atanasio Girardot stadium embellished with
exhibitions of pottery, gold work, jewelry, glass objects, stone and
wood carving, leather goods, basketry, fabrics, embroidery, and many
other kinds of handicrafts.

Dance Parade, December.
Full of fantasy and folkloric tradition coincides with the city`s
magnificent christmas illuminations. Dance and music groups provide
enjoyment for the streets and avenues of the city.
