
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Bogota and colonial center and Monserrate mountain tour.
Day 2: Road trip to Neiva. City tor and shopping in the afternoon.
Day 3: Visit to the Tatacoa desert and to the paleontology museum: The
Tatacoa Desert, which forms a portion of the Inter-Andean Valley
Ecoregion is located in the middle of the upper course of the Magdalena
River. This ecoregion lies in a rain shadow and receives very little
precipitation, even though it is surrounded by moist montane forests.
Due to this isolation many endemic species and dry forest specialists
occur here. It is also an important source of ancient fossils.
Day
4: Road trip to San Agustin and rafting in the Isnos - Versalles
section, about two hours and a half of pure nature and adventure.
Day 5: All day hikking in the San Agustin archaeological park: The
largest group of religious monuments and megalithic sculptures in South
America stands in a wild, spectacular landscape. Gods and mythical
animals are skilfully represented in styles ranging from abstract to
realist.
Day 6: Morning of and shopping in the homemade souvenirs shops. Road trip to the Rivera thermal spring and back to Neiva.
Day 7: Road trip back to Bogota. Afternoon of to enjoy of Bogota.
Day 8: Flight back home and end of the trip.
