The Cienaga de la Virgen is considered the lung of Cartagena . This Cienaga is bigger than the Cartagena bay and has a diversity of flora and fauna that can be represented by the birds that inhabit the region such as the Fishing Martin, the white Heron and pelicans among others.

 

While at the tour we will cross a wide variety of mangrove tunnels, in which you can see a wide variety of multicolor crabs and fishes. Locals explain the name of the Cienaga by the emergence of a Virging that blessed the fishers with the never ending birth of fishes that then will end up in the sea.

There, you will have the choice to journey in between islands on a classic sea kayak expedition along the Caribbean coast of Cartagena and The Rosario Natural Park.

Kayaking trips in our tropical waters will differ from northern climates in that our exploration will be under the water amongst the coral reefs. A typical day will include paddling from one location to another stopping along the way to snorkel.

 

 

Sea kayaking in The Rosario Islands means crystal and blue waters, thousands of coral reefs, abundant and varied marine life, camping on remote and undisturbed tropical beaches, and enjoying the evenings under the stars while hanging from a hammock.

In this adventure you will have the opportunity to learn paddle strokes, bracing strokes, self rescues and group rescues, if you are interested in improving your skills like to roll your kayak, our guides will find the time for you to learn. While at our trips you have a choice of double and single kayaks.
